How the mail-in service works

1. Confirm the part number on your module matches this page (send a label photo if unsure).
2. Remove the module using the manufacturer's procedure and post it to SRS RESET in Campbellfield, Melbourne — module only.
3. Typical turnaround is 1–2 business days after we receive the module.
4. After the serviced module is correctly refitted, scan the vehicle and check lighting and window operation. Faults elsewhere in the vehicle still need to be diagnosed separately.

Safe removal & refit

• Vehicle body electronics are sensitive to voltage spikes. Follow the vehicle manufacturer's workshop procedure for removing and refitting the module.
• Isolate vehicle power as specified by the manufacturer before disconnecting the module, and make sure the vehicle battery is healthy and fully charged.
• Treat the module as a static-sensitive electronic assembly. Do not probe, bridge or modify its circuits. If you are unsure of the correct procedure, use a qualified technician.
• FRM removal and refitting should follow BMW workshop information or be carried out by a suitably qualified technician. Isolate vehicle power in accordance with the manufacturer's procedure before disconnecting or reconnecting the module.

After installation

• Refit and reconnect the module correctly, then scan the vehicle and clear stored fault codes.
• Check the functions the footwell module controls — exterior and interior lighting, indicators, and window and mirror operation — and re-initialise the windows if the vehicle requires it.
• Any remaining faults in lamps, switches, wiring, connectors or voltage supply must be diagnosed and rectified separately.
• FRM software does not usually corrupt on its own. Please have the vehicle's wiring, power supply and affected circuits checked by a qualified auto electrician so the cause is identified and corrected. Diagnosing and repairing the vehicle itself is outside this service and remains the vehicle owner's responsibility.
